This is one of the projects that I have actually taken part in and to be sincere,  I love what I do and always eager to learn.





SEMESTER ONE
 
Activities for the month of October

Met with colleagues to identify a problem in our date-to-day life and later decided on the project we should work on. We proposed a roll call management system which was bounced by the project co-ordinator. One of our members brought out the issues of the parliament with there decision making ways.

Then proposed a system that would provide a platform for communication between the parliament and the general public. It is to enable individual from the public and are having mobile android phone v2.2 and above, and have our application installed on their phones, put out their opinions on parliamentary proceedings

Activities for the month of November


Met our supervisor on different occasions to help us rectify the errors in our proposals, during these sessions, he advised us to to make corrections to our main objective. And break the main objective into the specific objectives inform of the SDLC, i.e. to investigate and analyse, to develop and implement, to maintain etc.
We were also advised to change the name of the project, the initial name "opinion poll" didn't reflect what the system did so we chose "mobile_MP"
we chose mobile_MP because with this system, the participants will influence decisions made in parliament.

Towards the end of the month we had to go to the field and gather the requirements, these are statements in the natural language that describe what the system should do.
parliament and general public being our target for the system we interviewed some members of parliament and a few people from the general public.

Concurrently we were working on the requirements specification document.


Activities for the month of December


  • Still editing our requirements document
  • Both the proposal and requirements have been submitted for approval


SEMESTER TWO


Activities for the month of February


  1. Acquired the design template provided by the project co-ordinator.
  2. Each member was assigned a section to work on and my main emphasis was on the scope , overview and design rationale.
  3. The design document worked hand in hand with the partial implementation of the system, that is prototype.
  4. During this period we met supervisor on several occasions and who guided us on the documentation and also me rectifications in our diagrams. 
Activities for the month of march


  1. Still working on the design document, however actual implementation of the system is on.
  2. Before the end of this month, we were finalizing the design document for approval

Activities for the month of April


  1. Acquire the report template.
  2. we then started making the report on the project.
  3. It's also in this period that a database was created and hosted.
  4. More rectification are being made

Activities for the month of May 


  1. Report documentation is in its final stages.
  2. presented our already installed system to the supervisor, I think this acted as a catalyst for approval of both the design and report documentation.
  3. Submitted our report and design document for approval.
  4. Handed in approved documents (3 copies) to project co-ordinator.
  5. Review of verification  and validation processes 
  6. Continued testing
  7. Preparation of presentation slides
  8. On 28th May,  we presented our final year project to the panel
Activities for the month of  June 
  1. Continued implementation of the project .
  2. Addition of another functionality which is  tracking phone serial number and contact for the person who has voted and commented on the motion as suggested by the  penal.
  3. Editing of the  design document due to project integration as suggested by the panel i.e; data decomposition and database design .
