This blog page consist of the different activities that we have gone through which are the fundamental concepts of developing final year project” MOBILE-MP”.

 Activities for the month of October 2014

Met with colleagues to identify a problem in our date-to-day life and later decided on the project we should work on.
we proposed a roll call management system which was bounced by the project co-ordinator.
One of our members brought out the issues of the parliament with there decision making ways.
Then proposed a system that would provide a platform for communication between the parliament and the general public. It is to enable individual from the public and are having mobile android phone v2.2 and above, and have our application installed on their phones, put out their opinions on parliamentary proceedings.
Activities for the month of November 2014

Among the activities we did during the month of November include;

  • Requirement Collection from the parliament and end users.
  • Documentation of requirement documents and among others
Met our supervisor on different occasions to help us rectify the errors in our proposals, during these sessions, he advised us to to make corrections to our main objective. And break the main objective into the specific objectives inform of the SDLC, i.e. to investigate and analyse, to develop and implement, to maintain etc.
We were also advised to change the name of the project, the initial name "opinion poll" didn't reflect what the system did so we chose "mobile_MP"
we chose mobile_MP because with this system, the participants will influence decisions made in parliament.
Towards the end of the month we had to go to the field and gather the requirements, these are statements in the natural language that describe what the system should do.
parliament and general public being our target for the system we interviewed some members of parliament and a few people from the general public.
Concurrently we were working on the requirements specification document.


Activities for the month of December  2014


  • Still editing our requirements document
  • submission of both proposal and the requirement specification documents
                                      SEMESTER TWO
This   is the  second phase of the final year project and it will be implemented as follows  as  its laid down in the implementation plan.


Activities for the month of February 2015
  1. Started off the design document for Mobile_MP project. the design document include different activities.
Week one  and two
Following activities to  were accomplished in first week
  • Documentation o of data design include designing of class diagrams, sequence diagram and flow charts 
  • Component design
  • Documentation of background of their application
 Week three and four 
Activities included;
  • Documentation of database design; physical, logical  and rational database design.
  • Also started off the prototype for our implementation.
  • Met our project supervisor on different occasions to guide us on the design documentation.
  • First version of the design document was out.     

Activities for the month of March  2015
 
Week one  and two
Activities included;
  • Continued with the implementation of our project. 
  • Basing on the prototype, i added a few components like the Login and Registration screens.
  •  By late March, we were still refining  the design documentation. 
  • Version 2.0 of the design document was out.
Week three and four
Activities included;
  • Working on requirement matrix in design document and documentation of user requirements.
  • Refining  of the design document.
  • Creation of interfaces for the application.
  • Final version of the document was out.
  Activities for the month of April 2015

Week one  and two
Activities included
  • Started on the reporting for our project.
  • Continued with the implementation of our project.
  • Created an online database for the project. 
  • First version of the report was out. which is version 1.0  
Week three and four
Activities included;
  • Refining of the report and the second version was out
  • Carrying development testing.
  • Continued coding
  • verification and validation of the application
  • Validating user privileges and statistics display  in the application
Activities for the month of May 2015
Week one  and two
Activities included;
  • Finalized our report documentation.
  • Both the Design and Report documentation were approved by the project supervisor.
  • Handed in the documents for marking. 
  • Validating the app 
Week three and four
  • Review of verification  and validation processes 
  • Continued testing
  • Preparation of presentation slides
  • On 28th May we presented our final year project to the panel 
Activities for the month of  June 2015
Week one
  • Continued implementation of the project 
  • Addition of another functionality which is  tracking phone serial number and contact for the person who has voted and commented on the motion as suggested by the  penal.
  • Editing of the  design document due to project integration as suggested by the panel i.e; data decomposition and database design .
